How is Trump Donald Funded?
We fund Trump Donald out of pocket. We're proud to help defeat Donald Trump in any way we can, and we are happy to cover the costs of this platform. If Trump Donald becomes very popular, we may be unable to keep funding it ourselves, and so then we plan to form a PAC and accept donations directly, so that a small percentage of those donations can be used to cover our costs.
Are donations Refundable?
No: we can't refund your donation. We'll do our best to give you a refund if you donated by mistake or chose the wrong amount, but we'll evaluate requests on a case by case basis. See our Terms of Use for more detailed information.
Do you charge any fees?
No, we charge zero fees! The donation platform we use (ActBlue) passes on a 3.95% processing fee to the Biden campaign. In ActBlue's words:
We want as many campaigns and organizations on the left to be able to use our grassroots fundraising tools as possible, which is why there is no cost for groups to use our tools (we’re a nonprofit!). We pass along a 3.95% processing fee on contributions to the groups using our platform. ActBlue does not make money off of donations. Completing a contribution involves costs related to processing your credit card. We’re legally required to pass along processing costs to the campaign so that we do not make in-kind contributions to them.As a nonprofit, we use tips from donors to pay our bills. You can add an optional tip for us on the contribution form when you enter your credit card information.
Is this a subscription?
No, it's not a subscription. You make a one-time donation. (But you can make a donation multiple times if you like.)
Is my donation tax deductible?
No, your donation is not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. That's the rule for political contributions.
Who can donate?
Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents (Green Card holders) can donate, not foreign nationals. This is in accordance with federal law.
Is my Donation secure?
Yes. Only the donation platform we use (ActBlue) processes your payment information. They are the leading platform in the space and have raised over $13 billion in donations since 2004. For more information on their security practices, please see their website.
What's the Story of Trump Donald?
We launched Trump Donald in 2020 (the old website is here) to make Trump pay for his tweets — literally. We let people make micro donations so that, every time Trump tweeted, it sent money to those working to defeat him. "When Trump gives us his two cents, give his opponents your 2¢!" It was hilarious — and effective! We are proud to say that Trump Donald raised more money for Joe Biden in 2020 than Donald Trump paid in taxes in 2016! 😝
We've relaunched Trump Donald in 2024, again to raise money to defeat Trump. But although Elon Musk reinstated Trump's Twitter (now X) account, Trump has only tweeted once and has instead spent his time "truthing" on Truth Social. So Trump Donald 2024 has taken a different, but just as hilarious form. You can send Trump a message — literally — by donating to defeat him. We hope you spread the word far and wide, so we can blanket Mar a Lago with a mountain of letters!
